hello, im having an issue with maya and uvlayout.

Here s my workflow,

1. i do my modelling in maya.

2. i import the object in uvlayout

3. do my uvs

4. export the object and import back in maya ( do a seperate because now it s all one object )

5. then i do a transfer attributes to copy my uv s ( model out from uvlayout )back on my original model

But i get random objects with disconnected face... and scattered... does uvlayout rearrange models? point? or does anything to the geometry?

Why is this happening? please help

thank you Smile

No, UVLayout should be leaving your geometry untouched.

Have you tried using the Maya plugin? It makes transferring objects between Maya and UVLayout a lot easier ...
