Is there a way to dial down the flatten strength so that when you use the flatten brush or tap F over a shell, the effect isn't quite so strong?
Also, when you have edges tagged as straight edges (solid black) is there a way to either quickly toggle those tags on/off, or is there a way to quickly remove all tags? I'm currently having to do it manually, which can be tedious. |

"Is there a way to dial down the flatten strength"
No sorry, not currently, other than to use an older version. I did a lot of work for the latest release to speed it up! Are you experiencing some sort of problem because its too strong?
" quickly remove all tags?"
Ctrl-I or Ctrl-K on an already tagged edge should remove all tags.

Thanks for the reply, Phil. Respectfully, yes it's problematic. Lets say you're working on unwrapping a leg, and you want to pack it in a specific rectangular space on your sheet. What I want to do is use the straight edge markers around the borders of the leg to make it perfectly rectangular, then disable the markers and VERY slowly and gently relax the shell so it's still more or less rectangular, but not forced into a perfect rectangle. Splitting the difference, essentially.
Currently when I disable the markers and quickly tap F, the shell relaxes way too much and way too fast for me to feel like I have adequate control. Same with the flatten brush, it's just too strong.
A simple slider to adjust the strength of the flatten, for both the F key and the brush, would be AMAZING. I'd love to have the option to crank it up like you have it now, but I don't always need or want it to be that strong.
A couple other thoughts while I'm here..
It would be great if the "move points in circle" didn't move points that were pinned. Pinned points should be respected by all tools IMO.
A adjustable falloff function for all brushes would be nice. This is usually indicated by an inner and outer circle on the cursor. |

"A simple slider to adjust the strength of the flatten,"
Sounds like a good idea actually, and shouldn't be too hard to add I think. I'll try and sneak that one in to the next release.
"Pinned points should be respected by all tools IMO."
I'll add a toggle/preference somewhere, because I personally like it how it is :)
"A adjustable falloff function for all brushes would be nice."
OK, I'll think about that. Currently there is falloff, its 100% at the center and 0% at the edge, but a slider to adjust the 100% threshold position could be added.

Did you implement this? And there is a way to just smooth the uvs with a brush without worrying about the distortion just to clean messy edges? |

"Did you implement this?"
Yes, it was added in v2.07.02 back in February. You can adjust the strength under the Edit Settings.
"And there is a way to just smooth the uvs with a brush without worrying about the distortion "
That's the "6" hotkey. It also pins the points affected so they dont change if you re-flatten the shell.
