I am using a mouse on my Mac laptop.. I can rotate and move in and out.. but I can't go up and down. The mouse has a wheel instead of the middle button.

Can anyone tell me how to change the settings? I've gone into my mouse preferences on the computer, but it doesn't really give any settings to change.. as far as I can tell. Smile Embarassed

In UVLayout, open up the Mouse Preferences ... in there you can select between 2 and 3 buttons, so if you make it "2", then you should be able to use the right mouse button to pan the view and to move shells about. For this to take effect, you need to reload the mesh.
