Dear community,
i am a new user of uv-layout. i read a lot in this forum but i´m a little confused about what to do with all this functions. i need to map this part here:
i picked this two shells for example.
Load them into UV mode, flatten and packed them and thats what it looked in 3D Mode.
My question is how i get the uv´s all into the same direction because the texture must be all the same.
I used rhino for creating the mesh, not really nice. What is a good software for creating meshes with nearby the same size of polygons?
Best regards and thanks for help,

"how i get the uv´s all into the same direction"
Try making each shell into a rectangle that has perfectly horizontal and vertical sides. Because your mesh is made up of many triangles, the automatic "R" hotkey probably wont work, so you'll need to use the older method shown in this video ...

If you also turn the grid on, you can snap the shell corners to that, and then adjacent shells can line up perfectly with each other.

Any subdivision surface modeler would be better than the triangulated nurbs patches that Rhino is giving you there. There's some links here ...

Good morning, evening Phil,
sry after many hours of trying yesterday i have some questions again to get the uv mapping better.
This here are my iges data with the nurbs and they are all orientated in different positions so my mesh has this directions too. Must i fix this directions before to have easier work with uvlayout?

I dont think so. If you want, email me one of your OBJ files and I'll check if I can get it to flatten nicely in UVLayout, with all the UV grids nicely lined up.
