|
|
It's been a while since I found this behavioy, but it's getting really annoying now. It's happenning with a couple of newer Nvidia drivers.
After packing, UV view flickers a lot when panning zooming, but also if I split the pane and rotate in either edit or 3d view, uv view flickers. That intense red color flickering really hurts
here's a quick demonstation video.

uvlayout 2.07.01, win 7 x64, nvidia driver 276.14 (but happens with 2 or 3 older drivers as well)

There were quite a few 2.07.01 beta releases, so my first question is ... Are you using the latest official release? Click on the "About UVLayout" button at the top of the GUI, and the build date should be the 12 of October (plus or minus a day).
After watching the video (a very good idea!) I had a thought ... what happens if you turn *off* the "Show Tile Coverage" option in the Pack tool? When on, it draws the pack percentage for each tile over a small red rectangle, so maybe that's leaking out somehow,

Right, I was using an older build, dated 2011/05/25. Updated to the latest one and the flicker seems to be gone, thanks Phil.
Found another issue though, after reaching certain number of cells, the tile coverage displays as an empty red rectangle, no matter if I repack again, turn tile coverage on and then off.
An easy way to reproduce this one is to drop a mesh to the uv view and pack it... it will display ok the tile coverage. Then keep splitting some shells until the tile coverage is gone and it will never come back. In my tests it's around 30-40 shells.
Not a show stopper of course, but just to let you know |

Excellent! I had done some work on the double buffering for the last release, so hearing the flicker was back again had me worried for a moment there.

OK, thanks for the tip-off! I'll get that fixed for the next beta whenever that is.
