Hi,
when im unwraping uv using headus on cylindrical object, my uv has no straight horizontal lines, but rounded, is it possible to get uv on cylindrical object with straight lines ?
it is hart to paint texture on that kind of uv layout, what are your tips ? |

The Pro version of UVLayout has an 'R' hotkey that will flatten pipes/cylinders into neat rectangles. In other versions you can use the 'I' group of hotkeys to force edges to be vertical or horizontal.
Go to the UVLayout videos here ...

... then click on the Advanced menu option and you'll find a series of 3 videos that goes over the different options for squaring edges.
