We have a situation where when we go to do Pack All, UV Layout doesn't fill the 0..1 space. Instead it smushes it all up along the bottom of the space like this:
Help? |

It probably would be helpful if you mention to Phil exactly what version you are using... |

Correct ... knowing the version number is important, because if you're running an older version, I just have to say "grab the latest release" (i.e. v2.07.00).

I'm running the latest version (2.07). I didn't even start using UVLayout until after the latest release.
Anyway, it's not a version thing. It just packs like that.
Would it be useful if I got you the uvl file?

Definitely looks like a bug then! I have done quite a bit of work on the packing since that release though, so its possible its been fixed simply because I've changed things.
Login to your uvlayout.com account and go to the Support Extras page. You'll find the latest Windows beta there (which includes the new packing code). If that doesn't fix it, then I would definitely be interested in the UVL file.

I will definitely check out the beta.
However, we did actually finigile it into working again. Finigle being a highly technical term.
The Tile settings were set 1x1, but by changing it to some other value, then back, that sorted it out and it started functioning sane again. Somehow it got internally confused by... something or other.
We've other issues, like shells that get "stuck" in UV space. Can't manipulate them in anyway. Some operations stay they are locked, but no effort to unlock them ever works (L key, all that). No problem with locking/unlocking shells otherwise.
Unfortunately UVLayout doesn't really give you good feedback on the state of something, so it's hard to tell what might be up when it gets like that. So far we've had to just throw away work and go back to a prior save when this happens.

If things get confused, often saving and reloading will work.
This is the first time I've heard that there were problems with that latest release though, so maybe it *is* something to do with your mesh. Try the beta, and if that's no help, I would be interesting in playing with your UVL file.

Oh, it's blame the mesh is it! (GRIN)
Cool tho.. next time we get in such a state, we'll try the save/reload approach. If it doesn't solve it, we'll ship off the uvl so you can give it the debugger-smack down.

"it's blame the mesh is it!"
Always. If no-one loaded a mesh into UVLayout, none of these bugs would ever happen!
But yes, if you strike problems with the latest beta, I'd be most interested in the UVL. I have a few favorite meshes here I do most of my testing with, so occasionally a new mesh will find a chink in the armor, and a bug appears that I haven't come across myself.

To really be sure you have no issues, I suggest getting rid of all users too. Just the meshes may not be enough!
By the way, I just emailed you an obj that once loaded (in edit uvs mode) makes UVLayout go bonkers on my system.

(An additional) By the way... speaking of beta builds.... any chance you can throw up a OSX build of 2.07.01j? |

"any chance you can throw up a OSX build of 2.07.01j"
Sure ... I just need to recompile to make the OS X build, but I'll play round with it a bit before uploading in case there's some OSX specific bugs. It'll be ready in a couple of hours I expect.
"I just emailed you an obj"
Yep, got it, and replied via email. Problem is with weird UVs in the OBJ.

I did find a couple of bugs, so the OSX beta upload will be a bit late. I'm making those changes for the file with odd UVs while I'm at it though ... shells with over-sized UV coords will be automatically undropped when loaded.

The latest beta for OS X is now up on the Support Extras page.
