|
|
Hello,
it should be nice to have a possibility to sort shells by size.
It's about some kind of sort option to the PACK panel.
Shells will sort in blocks or groups from the left to the right
and from big to small. After the operation must be
easy to select each group.
Still maybe you can add a picking tool to pick a particular
shell to define source to select shells of similar size in some range.
Headus, is this possible to do?
What do you people thing about it?
Thanks

The "stacking" tools can be used to find shells with the same topology, and it sorts them in order from large to small. The video showing this in action is an old one, so its easy to miss. Go here ...

... and its the "UVLayout-Beta-v1.16A" movie that you want to watch.
That'll only work though if the shells have the same topology (i.e. arrangement of polygons). There's nothing currently that orders just by size.

Yes, this is a problem. I need to sort all the shells. Not the same only.
Example: A complex tree model with different branches and twigs.
We prepare a bunch of textures by the part sizes. We have a hundreds of these
parts. Sorting them manually is big pain.
To have the size sorting option in UVL it should be fine.
