Can't detatch seams

I'd say you have a very short and hard to see edge in there that's not tagged, and so the detach/split isn't working because the whole edge loop isn't selected.

In the latest release you can use a double-tap of the C key to select all of an edge loop where all the crossings are 4-way junctions (e.g. a grid topology). Your revolved shape there looks like it would be one of those, so try that.

If you don't have the latest UVLayout, then try Shift-C instead. It will also select an entire edge loop, but is pickier about the junctions, and so may stop at the hard to see short edge.

Or switch on "D" for drag mode (see below) and press and hold C on the first edge, then drag the mouse pointer in the direction you want to select ... that will pick all edges in a loop including any short edges.
