Hi There,

I'm using uvlayout pro version 2.09.02

I get the following error when I send a grouped object from uvlayout back to maya (I've tried both maya 2015 and 2016).

'your OBJ file contains faces shared by multiple groups. Maya cannot create multiple objects for this file. A single mesh object will be created instead. The OBJ group information will be captured in Maya sets'

when I roll back to 2.08.03 it works fine.

Here's how to recreate the error:
1) start up maya
2) create a polycube and group it
3) start up the uvLayout plugin from the maya shelf
4) send the group with the cube in it to uvlayout
5) in uvlayout, send the cube back to maya.

Cheers,
Mark

No solution yet, but I can confirm the same problem, and think I know why its happening now and not in v2.08.

But can you run this test on your end and let me know if you get the same results.

1) start up maya
2) create a polycube and group it
3) select the cube and export it to an OBJ file.
4) File -> New Scene
5) import the OBJ file and do you get the same error?

So basically, export and import the grouped cube without using UVLayout at all.

In the meantime, I'll work on a fix and will upload a beta installer as soon as its ready (hopefully by the end of the week).

If you've got a Pro license and are running Windows or Linux, then there's a beta release on your uvlayout.com Support Extras page that fixes this bug.
