Unfortunately, we don't currently support Windows 8. So in the short term at least, you'll need to borrow a Windows 7, Vista or XP system.

I just tested UVLayout on a Windows 8 PC and it seems to work fine. The only hurdle was during the initial install, where Windows said something along the lines of "Can't install unknown application", but if you click the "More Information" link, it allows you to install anyway.

Did you have the same problem, or was it something else?

UVLayout Professional v2.08.01g seemed to install perfectly on our new ASUS Laptop running Windows 8 64 Bit. Only annoyance I dealt with getting it setup was turning off UAC. (I usually do that anyway).

Cheers

I had to do it because I recently had surgery so I was down for a bit, but I was able to get my mapping job done with absolutely no issues. Smile

Have encountered strange issues. Not to say it's really bothering but it's there.
Under Win8 Layout works slower(((
Search for similar geometry when Copy UV's takes a lot more time, On any geometry simple or complicated. Mybe it's just my problem.
But on the same machine with win7 worked just perfect.

Have a look at this in the online docs ...

http://www.uvlayout.com/doc/Installation_Guide:_Windows#Known_Problems

Changing your OpenGL preference might help.
