Doesn't happen often but right now it's doing it. We're on Maya 2k13, latest UVLayout release. Opensuse environment.

Sometimes we have the vanishing UI bug too. The UI windows just leaves the screen and we cannot save, nor do anything, loosing a lot of time @ work because of this as we have to start over parts and parts again. Any insight on what's causing all that?

Cheers.

B.

Sometimes a corrupted UVLayout prefs file can cause weird side-effects, so its worth removing that (to reset everything) and seeing what happens. You can find it in ~/.headus ... make sure UVLayout isn't running, then delete the preferences file and preferences.update if you see one in there. That will also nuke the hlserver setting though if you're using floating licenses, so you'll need to set that back to what it was using the 'headus' licensing GUI.

As for losing work when things go wrong, I'd recommend setting the autosave to 1min intervals until things get sorted out.
