Hi,

I have a simple checkerboard pattern to unwrap. All my planes share a welded vertice in every corner.

I seem to only be able to bring into UV space on square at a time and it loses its placement in my checkerboard. I am unable to get a sense of organization here.

Is there a way I can select the entire checker object and bring it into uv space as an intact whole?

Thanks!

Does each of you squares have a blue line around it? That indicates a seam in the geometry, which means that UVLayout isn't seeing all those vertexes as welded together, which might suggest a problem with the way the OBJ was exported from your modeler.

In the latest release of UVLayout there's a "Weld Geom Vertexes" tick box in the Load Options window. If you select that and reload your mesh, it should get rid of the blue lines.

Oh, and its admiral that you are using UVLayout for this, but usually a simple planar projection is all you would need to make UVs for a flat board, so I'm wondering if you can do what you want inside your modeling program?
