Hi, I am uv-mapping a 3d-model for the first time and I was wondering if the led and blue lines that appear on the inner edges of my uv-shell indicate a problem?

That's a feature actually ... its called "webbing", and is applied automatically to holes when you use Shift-B on an unflattened shell. You can add and remove webbing with the T and Shift-T hotkeys.

Without webbing, holes sometimes collapse when a shell is optimized. This is because all the polys are pushing out usually to make themselves the correct flattened shape, and if there's a hole, it will shrink because that's somewhere for the polys to expand into.

With webbing, the holes push back, retaining their shape.

I was actually having some problems with that recently (webbed holes collapsing on themselves) so I just ended up pinning them like telling a dog to SIT! STAY! lol. So I cant exactly look back/recreate/explain what happened (this time) but i'll be sure to if it happens again.

Yes, please do! I've never seen it happen myself, so I'm really curious to know what unusual geometry you might have had there to make it happen.
