So far it's worked. It shifts focus on each island as it works through the mesh.

The "R" keys not working because its changed to "R for rectangle" now by default. See the "R key" video for details.

If you want the old "R for relax" you can change to that under the Edit panel, but as cometsoft says, "B" is the one you should be using anyway.

I'll have a look at the optimize though ... it does work here too under the new draw method, but maybe i can change it back to the old method just for the optimize because redraws were never a problem there anyway.

I've worked out whats up with the optimize ... if you have the "Slow Smooth Optimize" preference turned on (the default) all is OK. If you have it turned off, that's when nothing displays.

I'm working on a fix now and should have a new installer ready either later today or tomorrow.

The optimize now displays correctly for either preference setting. There's a new installer on the usual Extras page.

Whats a little odd though is that the bug appears to be un-related to the recent changes, and would have been there always as far as I can tell. Very odd actually that's its only just come up! Anyway, hopefully it works now for you guys as well.

so it looks great and all redraw issues are gone from what I can tell. My only issue now is that new windows open slightly off screen. It's like it's trying to fill my screen but then gets pushed to the right by the tool palette.

also - I noticed that you can use Shift-B for a continuous flatten but it isn't documented and the results look different. What's this doing differently?

also - this may not be the best place for a feature request but I'm finding I really want a redo command. Often you try different things and want to toggle between the old and the new, with undo/redo.

"new windows open slightly off screen"

After you've resized it, click on the "pin" button to the left of "About UVLayout". It will then open at that size next time you run UVLayout.

"Shift-B for a continuous flatten"

Its new, that's why it hasn't made it into the Guide yet. It makes the shell bigger, then flattens. Sometimes when UVs get twisted, making the shell bigger before reflattening can help even things out better. Under the Edit panel you can change the Shift-B scale factor.

"I really want a redo"

Yep, its on the list! There's a few big things I want to do first though, so it wont happen right away.

Thanks for the tip about the pin button. That's one I would have never figured out.

Haven't had a chance to play with the latest version. Got hit by a devastating storm in New York and haven't had any power. Now if I can just avoid the falling trees.
