I'm really liking the ability to cut edges without distorting the layout when the fast weld button is on.
Could we please add a key or toggle button so we can cut edges like this all the time?

Easy! Open up the Preferences and untick "Open Cuts".

another feature I have over looked.
The distortion is ok for a visual reference but other than that what purpose does it serve? |

The idea is that its a clear visual indication that the cut has been made. Yes, I agree, if everything is already nicely flattened out, its a pain! Hmmm, maybe it could be a bit smarter ... only open up in the Ed view, not the UV. I'll think about that.

I think that somewhere I have seen shells move to the side when I mark shells and break it. problably just in the ed view.
If it was clearly breaking a shell into two pieces perhaps it could just move it out of the way a little. that way it would not need to be relaxed again and is clearly broken.
