I saw one other post about Wacom Tablets, but does not address my problem. Seeing as there are no other posts related to drawing tablets not working with UVLayout, I'm worried it's my computer.

I use an Intuos4 tablet and when editing at the vertex level I get "sticky keys" windows errors, then UVLayout starts to lag.

Other artists in our office do not have problems, although they don't use their tablets as much as I do. Only other difference is I'm running Windows 64 bit.

UVLayout and Win64 bit not get along? Anyone using a 64 bit machine/Wacom tablet together?

Okay, looks like nobody else is having this problem. Well, I switched to my mouse and everything is fine except the fact that my index finger is going numb from constantly pressing the middle mouse button.

As I see it, there's no other way to edit vert UVs other than the mmb. Also, doesn't look like UVLayout is key-customizable...

anyone? Bueller?

"there's no other way to edit vert UVs other than the mmb"

Correct. I personally don't do that much hand tweaking of the UVs, so needing to use MMB hasn't bothered me that much.

I'm thinking a "lock MMB" toggle somewhere might work ... with that turned on, you'll just have to position the mouse pointer over the vertex, then hold Ctrl to move it ... same with Shift for circle moves.

" I get "sticky keys" windows errors,"

I'm sure you can turn those off somewhere ... maybe in the Accessibility control panel?

"lock mmb" would that be in UVLayout?

I've tried a lot of different settings in the Accessibility Options in Windows.... nothing. Like I said, it's probably a Win 64bit thing anyway.

It's just so frustrating because I'm starting to really dig UVLayout, but I'm a tablet-user who needs to do a lot of editing at the vertex level to get my characters 'perfect'.

Thanks for the advice! Perhaps I could find a lock-key app somewhere online.

thanks again

Yes, sorry, I meant I would add a "lock mmb" toggle somewhere in UVLayout. A general "lock mmb" application would probably be a bad idea; it'll break everything else :-)

As for the sticky keys thing, I was able to turn it off under 64bit XP. Its sort of hidden away, but you untick the "Use Shortcut" option.

Yo Phil, that worked!

I had one little hiccup, but basically, that fixed my problem. Sooo funny, I figured the 'settings' tab didn't matter if the "Use StickyKeys" was unchecked... typical Windows 'intuitiveness' ! lol

Thanks Phil!

Oh, I forgot to say ... in the latest beta release (available from the uvlayout.com Support Extras page) you'll see a "No MMB" option under the Edit panel. If you tick that then you don't need to use the MMB to edit UV vertexes. Just aim the pointer and use Ctrl or Shift to move points. If you select "Hold", then you need to hold the Ctrl or Shift key to move the point. If you select "Tap", then you tap the key to turn the move on, then tap it again to turn it off.
