Hi Phil,

I'm using the Maya plugin(scripted UI). After I push "Send Mesh" button, the selected objects replace those in the main UVLayout window. That's fine! I wonder if there is any possibility to change object type (e.g. from `subd` to `poly` or from `New` to `Edit`) in the existing UVLayout application before new objects get there? I mean change indirectly, from Maya. Or any alternatives?
Thanks.

Yes, you can change those settings ... in the main UVLayout window, up at the top, is a "Set Load Options" button. The Type (SUBD vs Poly) should match the type of the object you have back in Maya.

Yeah, I know about those switches I can make in UVLayout main application. What I need is to send maya objects supplied with custom maya attribute (subd or poly). Depending on that attribute I need to switch to SUBD or Poly accordingly, but NOT MANUALY - automatically, on the fly, so to speak. Hope, I put it clearly. Smile

Perfectly clear!

OK, I'll have a look at the plugin interface sometime next week.

Sorry about the delay, but I did eventually get around to looking at this; the plugin now tells UVLayout whether its a poly or subd that's being sent over, and it switches accordingly.

There's a couple of other things I want to look at before I do a new UVLayout release, but this "auto switch" thing will be in there whenever that's uploaded.

Thank you for this modification, Phil! When do you plan to make that release?

I got carried away with one of the other things I was looking at, so its taking a bit longer to get that next release out. At the moment though I'm thinking it'll be next week sometime.

Can you tell if those things will be essential and noticeable for users or they will only refer to the "deep core"? )
