We are not actively developing an OS X version right now, but I am thinking about having a go at it sometime in 2008. I'll post new messages here when I have more information, so use the "watch this topic" link towards the bottom of the page to receive emails when I do that.

A user reports that UVLayout works on a Mac if run under Windows via VMWare Fusion. He cant get it to recognize the USB dongle though, so is running it via a temporary Ether license; thats something we're still trying to debug.

A different user though has just reported success when using Fusion ...

"Sometimes VMWare Fusion will disconnect some USB devices and reconnect
them to the Mac OS so that Windows doesn't see them. To fix that, go to
the Virtual Machine menu when you have your Windows OS running and
choose USB > Connect Alladin Knowledge HASP HL 2.16 . This will
reconnect the USB device to your Windows OS.

I'm also using Fusion 1.1.1. Perhaps there was a difference for the
other customer."

As far as a native OSX port of UVLayout goes, its still our plan to have a go at
that sometime this year. Keep watching this topic for updates.

And I've just had it confirmed that UVLayout (and the USB dongle) runs fine on Mac hardware via Windows and bootcamp.

An experimental build of UVLayout for OS X 10.5 Leopard (Intel only) is now available for existing Professional users. Login to your uvlayout.com account and you'll find it under the Support Download menu.

Users with dongles will need to install the OS X dongle driver as well; follow the [download driver] link on your Support Details page to get that.

Users with floating licenses should check the updated HLServer User Guide for application configuration settings under OS X.

Feedback is always appreciated, and you can submit that here ...

One user has reported fatal errors when trying to run UVLayout. It could be that I installed something on my one Mac that UVLayout relies on, and I don't have a clean system anymore to check the install properly. Anyway, I cant do it today, but tomorrow I'll go back over my notes to see if I can find what I need to include in the installer that might be missing.

Yes, there were some dynamic libraries missing from the original OS X installer.

That's been fixed, and the new disk image install file is now ready for download from your Support Download page.

The Mac OS X install of UVLayout is now available for all users, and that includes the demo too. Check uvlayout.com for details.
