The news is that we now have some Mac hardware at headus (a MacBook Pro) so an OSX version is definitely going to happen ... cant say when because we're busy on another project at the moment, but I hope to have a prototype up and running in a few months.

Wow. This is great news. I’m watching the Gnomon Workshop’s Jester tutorials, which features UVLayout. It seems to me an awesom tool. Far better than any uv mapper I tried before on the Mac.

Hi Phil,

hope you like your new Mac hardware! Smile
Can you provide any further info as to when we Mac users might expect an initial version for OSX?
Will you provide a private (or public) beta program? I'd love to contribute.

"hope you like your new Mac hardware! "

So far. Actually I mostly just switch it on then sit at my favorite Linux desktop PC and 'ssh' in to do the work ;-)

"when we Mac users might expect an initial version for OSX"

Hard to say exactly when yet ... depends a lot on what other work gets in the way. But I hope to have something by the end of August. Initially I think it'll be a beta available to existing customers only ... I know a number of Mac users are already using UVLayout via bootcamp, Parallels or Fusion, so they'll know best if bugs are general UVLayout ones, or are something specific to the new OSX version only.

See below for a shot of the progress so far ... a number of things still need to be done, but its looking positive!

I expect Mac purists aren't going to like the standard UVLayout GUI, but a number of Windows and Linux users don't fancy it either, so at least everyone is on equal terms there :-)

Wow! Wasn't expecting that! Fantastic Phil. Thank you very much for posting that screenshot. Very Happy
Even though as you say the GUI isn't very OSX-like I'm still very glad to see it up and running on a Mac. Let me know when it's ready so I can flash my credit card. Laughing

Thanks so much for supporting the Mac!
