Hello All,

UVLayout v2.00.03 is now available from ...

http://www.uvlayout.com/update

Because this update is mostly bugs fixes, its available for download by all users, that is, Demo, Student, Hobbyist and Professional. Note: This update is for UVLayout v2, which will only run with your new v2 license key; this is available on your Support Details page.

Changes to existing features:

- Plugin mode saving : The usual Load and Save/Tmp buttons are
now visible when UVLayout is run in plugin mode. This means that
you now have a chance to save your work if something goes wrong
with the transfer of the UVs back to the host application.

- Max Shells preference : When an OBJ file is loaded in Edit mode,
the number of UV shells is checked first; if there's more than this
setting, the load is aborted and a message is displayed suggesting
that the Weld UVs load option might be needed. If your mesh really
does have more than the default of 2000 shells (e.g. individual
leaves on a tree) then you can increase the shell limit here.

Bugs fixed:

- DXF files : The scale of exported DXF files was out by various
multiples of 10, sometimes up to a factor of 1000. Now, assuming
that the loaded OBJ file is in millimeters, the DXF file will be
in the correct number of inches.

- OBJ files : The scale of exported OBJ files was also sometimes
out by various multiples of 10. This was particularly the case
if the mesh had been passed through the UVL format at some point.

- Meshes with partial UVs didnt load correctly when Edit was
selected.

Phil

Hello All,

UVLayout v2.00.04 is now available from ...

http://www.uvlayout.com/update

This update has been provided to Professional users only.

Changes to existing features:

- Optimized Picking preference : With very heavy meshes, or
some OS/GPU combinations, UVLayout's picking (e.g. for marking
cut edges) was quite slow. This preference option, if enabled,
turns on some new code that speeds up the picking process.

Bugs fixed:

- Local Scaling : If a shell with Local Scaling was undropped,
then redropped, it failed to flatten correctly.

Hello All,

UVLayout v2.00.07 is now available from ...

http://www.uvlayout.com/update

Because this includes some important bugs fixes, its available for download by
all users, that is, Student, Hobbyist and Professional.

New features added in this version:

- G hotkey marked polys can now be transformed using Space-LMB to
rotate, Space-MMB to move and Space-RMB to scale. Change the brush
size (- and = hotkeys) to adjust the width of the dropoff region. A video
showing this in action can be found under the Advanced videos at
www.uvlayout.com/videos.

- Open Cuts in UV View preference : By default this is on, and
it means that when you make C hotkey cuts in the UV view, the UVs
pull apart slightly to create a gap. Turning this off means that
the cuts will not open up.

- Restore GUI Panels preference : If you turn this on, then panels
opened up when you exit UVLayout are reopened the next time UVLayout
is run.

- Floating GUI panels now have a pin button to the left of their
blue title bars. Click on that to save the panel position, and
this will be restored the next time that panel is opened.

Changes to existing features:

- Space bar shell transforms (e.g. Space-MMB to move) will now
apply to all picked shells without requiring that the mouse
pointer be hovered over a shell first.

- Shells can now be picked in the 3D view with Shift-LMB.

- Packing : Tick the Show Tile Coverage option to show, after
packing, a percentage covered value at the top of each tile. The
higher this number the better, indicating less empty wasted space.

Bugs fixed:

- OBJ files : Meshes with "unset" UVs set to 0,0 caused the Weld
and Clean options to sometimes fail. UVLayout will now place
these polys into Ed space on load.

- Plugins : UVLayout would go into an infinite load loop if fed
an empty OBJ file by the interface plugin.
