Hi there, great tool, but there seems to be a bug when working with Maya primitives. I am unable to make splits on a simple torus, I just get the "split not found" message. Also, when trying to cut up e.g. a torus into two parts the result is actually three parts: the two halves and a torus that is still intact. I think I have exhausted all possible options by now. If you want to see what I mean in detail, you can watch Alex Alvarez' "Making of Jester" part 3.

Cheers

Yes, currently the split function only works if it can cut in from an existing edge. To split apart a closed object (like a torus or sphere), mark some seams and hit Enter to detach a piece, then you can split from the hole created.

"the result is actually three parts: the two halves and a torus that is still intact."

It sounds to me like the OBJ file you loaded is in fact two toruses exactly on top of each other. You should check back in Maya to see if thats the case.
