Okay, this is a side-effect of the licencing thing, and it's understandable why it does this, but it's also something that lost me an hours worth of work (granted the work was mostly "UVLayout runs and works on its own while I prep cranberry sauce" but still)

If a wireless card disconnects for whatever reason, the program crashes.

I'd really like to see a 'Your network connection has dropped and UVLayout cannot validate your licence to use this software. Would you like to save an update of your file?' happen.

It's just... I mean, I know you want to keep your software secure... but when it's to an extent that sunspots can interfere with the use of a program, or someone who knew I was working on something could theoretically launch a DoS against me to crash the wireless router, or whatnot, and it would actually interfere... well... something needs to handle these cases.

Or maybe even just a 'You had authentication when you opened the program'. I mean, how many people are hot-swapping NICs?

"If a wireless card disconnects for whatever reason, the program crashes. "

You could try the "Keep Alive" option in the licensing GUI. The default action in the Windows OS is to remove NICs when they lose a connection (e.g., pulling the cable out the back of an LAN card), so turning on "Keep Alive" should stop that happening.

Its no help to you, but users with Floating licenses do get a nice message and auto-save when a license is lost. And because of these sorts of problems, we don't sell Ether licenses any more.
