All day today and yesterday i have been usin all different versions of this program on my computer and i keep having fatal crashes every few minutes. If there are logs I can send you jsut let me know where to find them. It is making working impossible. also when I reopen the last saved file everything is slightly red everywhere so all the tweaking I di on the UVs is lost and I have to reflattten every piece

Are you getting an error message at all, or does it just die?

It says that it has crashed from a fatal error. Some times it even allows me to send an error report with windows.

I have a theory that this may have something to do with my video card becuase it seems to happen between switching between the 3 views. The really concerning thing is that that even when I save before it crashes and I reopen the file everything acts as if I had scaled it because it all the flattened bits turn slightly red. When I take this same OBJ in to the purchased version of cyslice that mcirosoft has which as I told you before is a different version of your software (version 1.6) it seems to work fine in there but what I am now thinking is it is not the version but the difference in the two systems some where becaue I went to the last version of the trial software that I could download off of your site and it still has these same problems of crashing and of loading my UVs up differntly than they looked when I saved them.

My specs on this computer
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 79 GS and I have a dual monitor setup

Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU
660 @ 2.40 GHZ
2.39 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

I will have to get the other one to you later but htat is the ine that is crashing

Could be UVLayout not playing nicely with nVidia dualview. Other people have reported problems with that before, but they did seem to go away, so I stopped worrying about it. Try turning that off to see if it makes any difference.

Are you running XP? I just had someone report similar problems with a Vista install.

I finally think I figued out what was making it crash. the first thing I do every time I start is move the menu bar to the other monitor. today i am working on it with the menu and the view port in the same monitor and it took an hour to crash not perfect, but that is pretty darn good because before it was minutes. The same thing was happening when I did it with the other computer too so that is surely part of it.

So now there is just the last problem which is the scaling thing when I open a saved file in the two pictures I attached with this post you can see that though it is not perfect the UV are layed out pretty well on the JPG called "before_save.jpg"
but when I save that file and reopen it the UV view looks like the JPG named "aftersave.jpg"

Note that when it is saved the whole thing isn't in the UV mode viewport some of it is still in edit and when I reopen it is all is in the UV viewport. and when I save it auto fit is on and when I reopen it, it is set to off. So the unuvd part appears in the bottom corner of the screen as you can see i nthe JPgg named aftersave-first.JPG that is also in with this post. Do you know what is causeing that becase with this crashing it is making tweaking my UVs and saving them not useful cause when it comes back they are all screwed up anyway.

ifigured out why it crashed afteran hour it was because I got an E-mail, and I had outlook in the other window so when out look refreshed my other monitor it made the program crash making it even further proven that it has somethign to do with the dual monitors Just thought i would let you know. I hope this is somethign you can figure out because I was hoping to buy a copy of this program for myself but there isn't a computer i have that isn't set up with dual monitors and all of them also have NVIDIA cards so hopefully you can find where it is failing

"... so when out look refreshed my other monitor it made the program crash making it even further proven that it has something to do with the dual monitors "

Yes, it sure does look that way. OK, I'll bump this one up the "to do" list, and hope to have a look at it sometime in the coming week.

Regarding the scaling, try turning "Set All UVs on Save" off in the preferences.
