Don't know if this helps,but I use copy UV to stack.
Then lock the pack. |

Just for the record.
In the end I chose not to stack,but it does work in c4d
check > use uvw for bump and all works fine. |

It works indeed well for colormaps,where you can stack many shells.
For normal and bumpmapped models this does not work. |

2 closest columns were textured with a 1 click bodypaint ,that was cool,no distortion,right away good looking.
3rd was photoshopped already to get the loops less obvious. |

Hope this does not sound stupid,UV is kinda new still.
When importing a torus I get instant this UV>
If I want a marbletexture not to distort all over the torus,is there any use to tweaking this ... |

In C4D open uv mapped model 1 and 2 .(these were OBJ. files)
Select both in object manager and choose FUNCTIONS - CONNECT
Now go to uvview and select all polygons
Lastly choose mapper in UV tools l ... |

As you can see object 1 is slightly discolored,object 2 is also slightly discolored.
Got the same result with riptide btw. |

Just gave this atry
Conected the 2 objects in c4d export as wavefront obj.
Import in uv layout and re-pack gives this>
That's close to work though,just a little discoloration?? |
