Slice trimming isn't new, but somehow it slipped through the documentation net, so here's the description.

Figure 286. Ragged Start and End Points

Figure 286 shows a series of hand drawn slices, with ragged start and end points. The two curved slices, draw with a projected spline, are going to be used to neaten the ends.

Figure 287. Trim Slices Tool

One way to trim off the ends is to use the curved slices as split lines, then pick and delete the small detatched pieces at either end of each hand drawn slice. If you had a lot of slices, picking the small end pieces could be quite tedious. This is where the slice trimming tool comes in handy (see Figure 287).

Figure 288. Trim Before

Figure 288 shows the result of first picking the lower curved slice, then clicking on Before in the Trim Slices window. The hand drawn slices are split, and any segments before the split line are removed. The directions of the split slices are important in deciding what's before and whats after, so make you you check this before trimming. If you do make a mistake, the Undo button can be used to restore the deleted end segments.
