Plugins for both V7.0 and V8.0 can be found in $HEADUS_HOME/lib/alias_plugins. Load the appropriate one up and the CySlice tool will appear in the Curves section of the tool palette. Open up the option window and you get Figure 360.

The PowerAnimator plugin communicates with CySlice via the transfer mechanism. See the Transferring section of the Saving chapter for more details.

When the CySlice plugin is Active, it checks in the transfer area once every second for a new transfer file. If one is found then the slices it contains are automatically loaded. The loaded slices are grouped, or not, according to the Group option, and scaled up or down according to the Scale option.

If you want PowerAnimator to start CySlice for you, tick Start CySlice. This is recommended if you are running more than one PowerAnimator and more than one CySlice off the same host. Each PowerAnimator's pid (process id) is appended to the transfer filenames, and each CySlice gets told which one to write to. This avoids any confusion over which CySlice is talking to which PowerAnimator. It is unlikely that you will need to change the Command used to run CySlice.

Once CySlice is running, you can transfer slices to PowerAnimator just by selecting the Transfer button. A second later the transferred slices will automatically appear in the PowerAnimator modeling view windows.
