The Cyberware PS (Portrait Scanner) platform is designed to allow the subject to sit comfortably while the scan head rotates around and gathers both geometry and color in 15 seconds. Data density is roughly a point every 700µm (two thirds of a mm).
The following images show some of the end results and approaches taken by us in scanning the human head using the Cyberware PS platform.

Multiple Scans: This is a combination of multiple scans. As well as the usual single head scan, a second scan was made of the shoulders and a third scan of the top of the head. The 3 scans were combined using headus software tools for merging multiple scans. (image courtesy of Colleen Cruise)
Stelarc's Extra Ear: Stelarc's left ear was copied, mirrored, and re-attached in front of his right ear. This is a preview shot of a proposed operation. More on Stelarc's Extra Ear project can be found at stelarc.va.com.au.
Hair Restoration: Hair can be a problem for laser scanners, but with hair restoration software tools developed by headus the final scan can look as good as the original. (image courtesy of Tim Anderson)
